watch TV

Hey everyone,

Hope your weekend went well!

You'll rarely find me telling anyone to watch TV, but I make exceptions every so often. Topping my list of exceptions are 1) The Olympics and 2) The Track and Field World Championships. #2 happens to be going on right now.

If you want to see any of the coverage, that link should help out. I'll paste the details below. The Mens 1500m final has Alan Webb, the first serious WC contender from the USA in a long, long time. Bernard Lagat, the aging American Record holder in the 1500 will also give Webb some competition. Keep your eye on Rashid Ramzi of Morocco and Mehdi Baala of France. Both are excellent runners.

The 5000 also features Bernie Lagat. He is a serious contender. Also look for Craig Mottram, the trash-talking Aussie and a handful of Kenyans.

The 10k has recent high school phenom Dathan Ritzenhein, current Oregon standout Galen Rupp, and the unsung hero of American distance running, Abdi Abdirahaman.

On the women's side, Kara Goucher took Bronze in the 10k just the other day. Look for Shalane Flanagan in the 5,000 and Jennifer Rhines right behind her. The 1500m on the women's side is unfortunately a little weak this year.

See you tomorrow!
