Training this week 1/8/08 to 1/12/08

This week we've had one meet already (sorry for my late e-mail)and a few athletes have a meet Thursday.

Wednesday  1/9/08  3:15 PM to 4:45 PM   Drills, for athletes competing on Thursday - 30 minute easy
                run followed by 2 laps of strides on the straightaways and stretching,  everyone else - 1 mile
                warmup on the field loop, 6 x 800 meters on the track starting at tempo pace and cutting down,
                1 mile warmdown on the field loop, stretch.
Thursday   1/10/08    3:15 PM to 4:30 PM for athletes not in the meet - Drills, core, 40 minute recovery
                 run, jump rope ( 2 x 45 seconds), stretch.
Friday      1/11/08     2:15 PM to 3:45 PM  -  Athletes that raced on Thursday - Drills, 40 minute recovery
                 run, stretch.  Everyone else - Drills, 1 mile on the field loop, alternate 200's and 300's for a total
                 of  four 200's and three 300's, starting one every 4 minutes, in cutdown fashion, 1 mile warm
                 down on the field loop, stretch.
Saturday   1/12/08    9AM to 10:45 AM   Core, speed ladder, jog to Truman hill, 5 x 400 yards in cutdown
                 fashion (recovery is jog down the hill), jog back to school, stretch.
