This week we'll run hills on Monday, race on Wednesday, run 1200's on Friday, and a long run on Saturday. The meet at Southern HS will be at 3:30 PM - we're running against Broadneck, Meade, Severna Park (B team), Southern, and South River. Southern HS is on Route 2 four to five miles south of Edgewater. Let me know if your family can provide drinks for the meet. Please note the late pickup on Monday and early pickup on Tuesday.
A team dinner is being organized for Tuesday evening and e-mails should be coming about that dinner from the organizer. I need to have all orders for sweats and shirts and payment by the end of Thursday. I will be at the team dinner and the Wednesday meet and Thursday practice but won't be at Monday or Tuesday's practices.
The athletes have generally been good about informing me of absences, but some problems on this issue have continued. I need to be informed of absences within 24 hrs of the absence. Failure to do so will result in not being able to run in a meet. Multiple unexcused absences may result in dismissal from the team. I can be called or an e-mail can be left.
Monday 9/17/07 3:15 PM to 5:30 PM (note the late pickup) Movement prep, core, drills, speed ladder, jump rope, 2 miles (Woodchip and around the front of the school), 4 x S curve turning left at the top of the hill and running the loop as the recovery interval, 1mile warmdown, weights and rollers and stretch.
Tuesday 9/18/07 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM (Note the early pickup) Movement prep, 30 minute run at easy to medium pace, stretch.
Wednesday 9/19/07 3:30 PM Meet at Southern HS.
Thursday 9/20/07 3:15 PM to 5:15 PM Movement prep, core, drills, speed ladder, jump rope, 40 minute recovery run, weights and rollers, stretch.
Friday 9/21/07 2:15 PM to 4:15 PM Movement prep, 1 mile warmup on the field loop, 5 x 1200 meters on the field loop with a 30 second rest, 1 mile warmdown, stretch.
Saturday 9/22/07 8 AM to 10 AM Movement prep, core, long run, stretch, food.
